The first time I encountered an angel I was fifteen years old. I had only been practising spirituality for a year when my guardian angel appeared to me. I was later to find out that my guardian angel is Archangel Ariel (the angel of nature, water and animals) and the one I serve with, is none other than Archangel Michael.
The first time I encountered an Ascended Master was the first day of my Angelic Reiki course in 2008, when Djwal Khul (the Tibetan Master working on earth's spiritual evolution) entered my aura and performed a healing on my course partner. His energy moved through me like a dance, my hands moving over my partner as though I were practising the art of Tai Chi. From then on, I would have the honour and privilege of experiencing Masters like Mother Mary, Krishna, Buddha, Merlin, Yeshua, Mary Magdalene, Hermes/Thoth and many others - each energy completely different.
I understand how difficult it can be to start working with Angels and Ascended Masters, there is fragmented information around, and quite frankly, I am sick of books that treat angels as glorified personal assistants, asking them to save you a seat on the bus or find you a lost object. Angels are Divine beings of light, existing in the closest dimensions and realms to Source/Creator/Great Spirit. They can help us when we ask them, they protect us, but more importantly, they are the vibration of pure love and healing. There are some great titles to recommend on the subject of Ascended Masters, however I will start this week with Doreen Virtue's Archangels and Ascended Masters, consisting of an impressive list of many of these high frequency beings and invocations given to connect with them.
This compendium of the highest supportive beings who are here to assist our ascension process has helped me incredibly with knowing who to turn to respectively for different situations. Specific guidance, prayers, incantations and meditations are given to help bridge those connections. Doreen Virtue also touches on their history, how they ascended and how these beings feel individually. For example, when Archangel Michael is called in, the room feels hot and a feeling of comfort wraps around your shoulders; Michael comes in need of protection and Mary, the Beloved Mother, comes in times when the vibration of a loving mother is needed, and for me, I feel my heart open and feels as though there is a flower of peace growing there in the centre whenever she comes to me. There are still some masters I have yet to have the privilege of experiencing like Yogananda, Serapis Bey, Babaji, Tara and Horus, our paths may never cross, but I am sure they will at times in my life when it is appropriate or synchronistic. The book covers the pantheons of Hindu, Egyptian, Hawaiian, Greek, Tibetan and a smattering of others. After all, we have certain beings whom we are drawn to because of our past life connections to these cultures or because of the particular missions we have here on earth as lightworkers, or perhaps simply because of what we might need in our system.
Since my first encounters, I have gone on a 19-year journey with many different deities and masters - which I would like to discuss separately elsewhere - but I have my 'A-team': Ganesh, Yeshua (Christ, Jesus, Lord Sananda), Merlin, Mother Mary, Mary Magdalene, Archangel Michael, Archangel Raphael, Malchizedek, Krishna, Archangel Ariel, of course, and goddess Isis. Archangel Metatron however, is missing from this book and I am not entirely sure why, he is also very close to me always and it is he, with whom I clarify my missions with. But this book helped to confirm why they had all chosen me to work with, why my soul called to them. They reflect qualities that we have in ourselves and seek to show us how we can aspire to embody the highest potential of those qualities as we spiritually develop.
More of a reference book that you can dip in and out of, then a full narrative journey in which you walk alongside, but valuable all the same if you choose to work with Archangels and Ascended Masters. It reminds us that we are never alone in our endeavours, there is always a wealth of Divine beings there for us to feel akin to, to understand our path, to gently take us to where we need to be - because all is perfect, all is as it is and there is always a higher, positive purpose at work for our greatest good.
